Wow, just cooked them up with some butter, sea salt and garlic. Some of the most amazing mushrooms I've every had. Easy to grow from the kit. I wish the instructions had been a little more detailed. Thanks

This is my first time growing mushrooms. I was expecting the block to be covered with mycelium, but it was solid brown. I'm just waiting for it to colonize so that I can let it fruit. I hope I'm doing the right thing. The instructions gave me the idea that if I just took the bag out of the box and set it on a shelf it would fruit in a week or two, but it's been a month now.

I opened the box about a week after I got it for Christmas. This is my first time, but I've watched a lot of tutoring videos, and when I saw that the block in the bag was almost totally brown, with maybe 5% of it white with mycelium, I decided to mix it up inside the bag and put it back in the box for another week or longer to continue developing before cutting open to fruit. I hope this is a good idea. I'll try to insert a picture below.
