This Rabbit Manure based substrate offers 4 times the amount of nutrients versus cow or horse manure! It's thought to be the leading substrate for mushrooms due to the high amount of nitrogen available. It's perfect for growing species like Shiitake, White Button, Portobello and several others. The rabbit manure is mixed with coco coir to provide a fantastic balance of nutrients and growing medium Now available in 5lb and 10lb bags.

  • Rabbit manure has four times more nutrients than cow or horse manure and is twice as rich as chicken manure.
  • Not as smelly as cow or horse manure
  • Rabbit manure is packed with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, minerals and micronutrients.
  • Nitrogen (N). Rabbit manure is higher in nitrogen than sheep, goat, chicken, cow or horse manure. Nitrogen is a major component required to grow larger mushrooms.
  • Phosphorus (P). Rabbit manure is also higher in phosphorus than the other manures.
  • Potassium (K). Potassium helps with fruit quality and the life of fungi.

What is MGP Plus (was TrichEVICT)?
With MGP or TrichEVICT, multiple bacteria species function together to produce metabolites and release nutrients through microbial mineralization. One of the species, Azospirillum, a free-living nitrogen-fixing bacterium, also fixes atmospheric nitrogen for uptake - turning a non-nitrogen-rich substrate into a much richer nutritional growing environment similar to manure. While supplementary nitrogen and other available nutrients ensure your mushrooms have every chance to have strong cell walls and grow to be big and healthy, the real growth promotion benefits come from the secretion of metabolites which spur on growth. One of the most important metabolites secreted is the auxin indole-3-acetic acid. This particular auxin, in lab settings, has been shown to increase mycelial diameter drastically and is present in nature in abundance.

When we use substrates such as CVG or pasteurized manure, the microbiome of the substrate is not tailored to mushroom production - which leads to poor yields, expansive growing times, and a tendency to contaminate. When adding either MGP or TrichEVICT into the mix, your standard substrate becomes ostensibly tailored to mushroom production.

In addition to this, nutrient competition between microbes is greatly increased - this makes it much harder for contaminants to take hold in your substrate. In addition to this, microbes also secrete small amounts of lipopeptides fengycin and surfactin, which effectively halt the germination and propagation of many fungal contaminants, including Trichoderma harzianum.

In summary, DRMyc blends harness the very most effective parts of nature in the optimal ratios specifically to increase the net production of your mycology hobby through reducing crop losses from Trichoderma, increasing yields and decreasing cycle times.

To ensure your success this product is made to order. Please allow 24-48 hours before these bags are shipped.

Refrigerate the substrate if you don't plan on using within a few days of receiving it.

Please Note: We HIGHLY recommend using the substrate within 2 weeks of receiving it. Naturally, substrates contain a host of microorganisms. Like all mycology vendors, we steam pasteurize our substrate to kill off most of these possible contaminants. However, since this process isn't technically sterilization it may leave some thermally resistant spores behind. This is widely known and accepted in mycology because at this stage you're introducing a substantial amount of fungus (spawn) that will quickly take over the substrate.
